Woo Hoot, major score!

Okay, joining this group must have forced the Weber Gods upon me....

Got a buddy who works at am Amazon return warehouse, texted me (I have smoked with him before) said they had a brand new, open box 18.5" WSM. Said they had $100 on it, but its always a risk...you cant unpack or look in, but my buddy did say it was heavy, so I took the risk.

It gets better...

Got home, did the assembly. and the only thing missing was the temp gauge! (which is worthless, I know)

Even more better...

Im anal, and didnt what the blank hole in the lid, so I called Weber (have had grills registered since 1998), and they said they would send it out for free! Yes!

EVen MORE betterer.....

I post my old gen 1 (18 years old) online, and its sells in an hour. How much you ask? $100!!

So stoked! Gonna do a hot dry burn tomorrow, then ribs this weekend.

Congrats! but why do a hot dry burn?
There is absolutely nothing in a WSM that need this.
Get to cooking:wsm:

Chris, you are opening a well stirred kettle of fish.
The truth of the matter is it’s YOUR piece of equipment and you can do whatever you want but, the amazing people here will offer opinions either way on virtually any topic. I post quite a bit and learn from folks who have a lot more experience.
Read and cook, learning is part of the journey.
It’s just fun!
