Rusted frame member (front right) for Weber 1300 - need advice

My 1300 has a major rust spot in the front right part of the frame. You can see the damage here:

Looking at the Weber schematics, I can see that it's item #47.

Any advice on how to fix this issue? I've seen Bruce's video where he replaces the cross member with a new piece of tubing. Not sure that I can use the same technique here.

Is my best option is to find a donor grill to salvage frame parts?

Bruce did a great write up and a YouTube on this. DO a quick search you will find gobs of info
 
I think welding a new piece in or a doner grill part is the permanent fix. If you are worried about the integrity of the frame while using the grill in the mean time, you could try sliding a piece of 1" angled aluminum in from the end, clamping it through the rusted out hole and then drilling and pop riveting it in place. Not pretty but should hold until you get a permanent fix. Hope this helps.
