Really fast temperature rise

I put a 7+lb choice brisket flat on my 22.5 early this morning and it was at 165/175 IT in three hours. Cooker temp is running 260-270. Anyone else have a flat come up that fast?

I wrapped it in butcher paper at 3 hours and it stopped coming up. I am 8 hours into it now and it seems to be on track for a 9 hour smoke.
 
Recheck thermometers. Sure you already did. I had a similar experience with a pork shoulder. It tried to escape early. But thanks to all you i remembeted to test the bone. Hah. Scammed. Recheck thetmomeyer and i caught it in time. You the man
 
They can usually get to there pretty fast. It's the rest of the way that's slow. Depending on ambient temps you probably had a higher temp stall.
