Bob Correll posted a video from Cooks Country that I though was interesting so we tried it last night, sure glad we did it was fantastic. Brine in 2 quarts of water ¼ cup of sugar and salt and a half cup of Franks hot sauce for two hours drain the chicken add the coating to the chicken place on the wire rack and into the fridge for two more hours.
In the video they use a gas grill I used our performer with the vortex.
The wings were really good, nice crunch with the coating and moist tender meat on the inside.
Served with Barbs macaroni coleslaw and some celery sticks and ranch dressing.

The video pretty much tells it all.

The last picture is a quick shot of a new loco moco I came up with. Its hash browns, homemade pork breakfast sausage of course a sunny side up fried egg and Pioneer country sausage flavor gravy mix.
Boy was that good.
Didn’t have time to show the whole process as Barb had to get to her radiation treatment, but wanted to share the idea with everyone.

Two Tasty Meals!

The country Loco moco is one of my favorite ways to use leftover meatloaf for breakfast!

Rich,

Any idea how hot your grill was running?

Yours apparently took about 40 minutes. The video from Cook's Country took more than double that (90 minutes) at 425º.

Thanks,

JimT

Jim, the dome temp was about 425-450. With the vortex creating a convection type environment the cook time is greatly reduced. Also we don't know how accurate their thermometer is.

Rich and Barb;
Now THAT is a wondrous repast! That classic comment should serve you well!

At any rate, excellent job! Congrats to you both!

Keep on smokin',

The wings look killer, and I'm stealing your loco-moco combo, sounds much better to me than rice, burger, and brown gravy for breakfast.
