Strip Steak with Grape Brussels Sprouts and Cheesy Potatoes

Barb and I wanted to do the marinade ChuckO did with his steaks as it looked really good.
Yesterday we got some really good news on Barbs cancer treatment plan.
So we have not been doing any grilling for over a month just to stressed to want to go through the hassle. We decided to celebrate the good news and bust out the performer.
I made up Chucks marinade and marinated a nice strip steak for about six hours.
Barb made up a casserole of her Brussels sprouts and red grapes and a casserole of cheesy potatoes as sides.
The steak and sides were excellent. The marinade was one of the best steak marinades I’ve ever had, Barb agreed. Like Chuck said I will be doing again, it’s a keeper.

Yay! That meal looks great! Glad to hear that Barb's prognosis is good. My Mother in law went through that 3 years ago and luckily everything went well.

Now if you'd get the snow to melt up here Ireally appreciate it!

Hi Rich, so glad to hear Barb is doing well. I always enjoy reading (and viewing) your lovely posts all these years!

Great looking steak and sides Rich!
I think you know my thoughts on sprouts, so I'll double up on the cheese taters, please!

Rich, that’s great news for Barb! I’ll keep you both in prayers anyway!
I need more information on this grape Brussels sprouts concoction when you have the chance!

Looks good Dahls! I'm happy to see your celebratory meal. (((both Barb & the weather :) )))

Some people have asked about the recipe for the Brussels sprouts so hear it is.

Brussels Sprouts and Grapes au Gratin

1 pound fresh Brussels sprouts, halved
3/4 cup seedless red grapes, halved
1 Tbsp. butter
2 Tbsp. flour
¾ cup milk
¼ tsp. salt
¼ tsp. pepper
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
¼ cup Parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 400 *. In a large saucepan, bring ½ in. water to a boil. Add Brussels sprouts, cook, covered until crisp-tender, about 5 minutes. Drain and transfer to a greased 8 in. square baking dish. Add grapes.

Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour until smooth; gradually whisk in milk. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly; cook and stir until thickened, 5 minutes. Add salt and pepper, pour over Brussels sprouts and grapes.

Top with shredded Swiss cheese. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese. Bake until bubbly, about 20 minutes.

Serve and enjoy.
