ServSafe Certification

Hey guys I'm wondering if anyone here on the forum got a ServSafe certification?
How did it helped you in job and cooking life?
 
I haven't got one, but I haven't been in food service since shortly after I was discharged from the Army back in '86.
But I was a cook while I served and still follow those rules/guidelines when I do cook nowadays.
 
I needed one when I worked at Walmart. It really helped knowing temperatures and cleaning standards, etc. I still use the information in my personal life. The few times I’ve served more people than just immediate family, I become a super-stickler about everything I learned, because I don’t want anyone getting sick on me.
