Help MicroDamper Printing Specs

Hello,

I am trying to acquire 2 or 3 more MicroDampers. I bought one from SteveCK a while ago and it is great.

I emailed him but he has nor responded. I hope he is OK and just busy.

I am hoping to get some printed by 3 D Hubs but I know little about 3 D printing. Could someone tell me what to order?

Material: ABS or PLA? Does color matter? I like blue. PLA has standard, woodfill, and metalfill

Infill: 20,30,40,60,80, or 100?

Layer height: 100, 200, or 300?

Dimensions: mm?

Process?

Thanks,
Joe Widmayer

probably no help but my public library will print 3D items for me cost $0.10 per gram. I think many public libraries do this today. just submit the files online and pay for it when you pick it up, they email you when it's ready.

I've printed my microdampers in ABS but it doesn't get very hot so PLA is probably fine. I'd avoid woodfill or metalfill because those can print differently due to being filled with other material. I print at 15% infill, 0.24mm layers (which would be 240 micron) so I'd say 200 there. I use 3 top/bottom layers and 2 perimeters but my microdampers are designed to fit my printer's specs so it would vary based on how it is printed. I've never used 3D Hubs though so I'm not sure what information is needed exactly.

Bryan,
Thanks for the info. The 3 D hubs seems pretty reasonable. I think I can get 3 done for about $45. I was going to buy a printer but I probably should put that off for a little while. So many blower/dampers to choose from!
Thanks for all you do,
Joe Widmayer
