Is there a way to find out if a grill has been registered with Weber?

Does anyone know if there is a way to find out if a grill has been registered with Weber without trying to register it yourself?

Thanks

Not that I know of. I think most people don't; I've registered around 10 that I bought used and none had been registered before. Why don't you want to register it?

Stefan I would just log in (or create a Weber account) and just register the grill. If it has been registered before, you will most likely get some kind of pop-up telling you so. At that point you probably won't be able to amend the existing info if it ain't you, but at least you'll know.

Yah, I am sure people mistype registrations numbers often when submitting them to the Weber site. My guess is that it will just tell you it is not a valid serial number or even tell you it has already been registered. No big deal. I really don't think they will send a couple guys in black suits to your door. I haven't registered a grill lately, but I don't remember it ever saying that you must be the ORIGINAL owner to simply register it.

I agree. I don't remember that either, so there is no harm in trying to register a used grill.

I know in the last 3 mos I think it was the 1100 I tried to register on-line and it would not take it. I just called them up and they registered it under me so I am guessing it had already been registered.

The Silver C I registered about a month ago that one the web-site took without calling.

Yes posted before on this forum a lot of times Webber will not even talk to you about parts until you register a grill. So I've been forced to register grills just to get parts for them. I always put down the data acquired the grill and list 2nd party is the vendor.

Originally I wanted to check if the grill was registered before I buy it. But I just took the risk. Eventually I did successfully register it. It is an 05 Gold C which I took in for trade. I sold the guy a refurbished Silver (https://photos.app.goo.gl/ZfxchgpGUGy7E2Yh6) and gave him $30 off for his grill.
However it has seen some beatings. The fire box is warped and the lid rusted inside.

So I will take some photos and call Weber in the next days. Maybe I am lucky again and get a new firebox and new black lid. I already ordered flavorizer bars and grates. I might need to get some burners too and a grease tray. Everything else seems to be salvageable. Side and back panels of the cabinet are good. Even at the bottom. And I might even be able to salvage the floor panel.

when you registered it, did you list some day back in 2005 or a recent date as the purchase date? Also, what did you list for the place you purchased it?

Bruce this time I entered a date in 2005 when the previous owner purchased it and no location. Let's see if they take it. Last grill I entered a date when I actually purchased it.
