    Here's Another Interesting Grill...

I also saw this one. Really don't know anything about ProFire. Looks like they are another small niche player in the higher-end grill market. Supposed to be all 304 stainless, so the damage should not be actual rust. Inside looks filthy but not necessarily shot.

If I could be convinced that all cleaned up this could be another easy flip like that TEC grill I bought a while back, I would be tempted by this one. $69, although the seller said that he wanted another $20 for the rotisserie.

    What do you guys think?

I wonder if even the entire firebox is stainless? At one point char broil made a grill that the lid, sides, and side tables were stainless but part of the firebox wasn't. Which is beyond stupid. Kind of like the weber summit.

I would be skeptical on any off brand grill like that. Chances are if you need a part, you will either have to fab it up if that is even possible.

I agree there are big question marks. ProFire was apparently originally independent but was bought out by MHP. They do carry parts, but whether they can support one this old is certainly in question. My brief reading does seem to confirm that they are made in USA high quality stainless grills. Whether I could clean it up and replace the bare minimum parts and still make a decent profit fairly quickly is altogether another question.

Anybody ever had experience with a ProFire?

That looks a lot like it was made by another major player but I am having trouble remembering where I saw that exact same grill but with another name plate on it like Viking, DCS or one of the other premium brands. I doubt it will be a good flip. Here is a little info http://www.grill-repair.com/profire.html
Whether it'll be a good flip grill I doubt it but it may be a really nice keeper for those smaller/quicker little cooks we all need sometimes

    Larry,
Thank you for the helpful link. It looks like it wouldn’t take long to turn a $69 grill into a $500 project. Given the lower name recognition, that would be really hard to then make a profit on. Like you say, though, it could be a nice grill for someone.

The $100 TEC grill was a way better deal because it didn’t need anything besides cleaning and an igniter, and it had the unique and desirable infrared aspect. The guy who bought it from me for $500 is still hawking it on OfferUp. He has dropped from $1000 to $900 asking price. Based on the responses I got, I think he could probably resell for somewhat more than the $500, but I think he is past the limit for most people on a used grill.

Oh I just noticed that thing as an IR rear burner. If that works this thing might be worth the price of admission as a little "keeper" especially if the original rotisserie kit is still with it
