WSM prices going up 1/1/19

Chris, weren't these the same prices as a couple of years ago, but then they went back down for 2018?

Maybe you're thinking about MAP (minimum advertised price) vs. MSRP (manufacturer's suggested retail price)? MAP is the "street price" that we all pay in retail stores except during end-of-year close-outs or when models are discontinued. MSRP is the price shown on Weber.com and rarely, if ever, seen at retail.

To the best of my knowledge, the MAP prices for the redesigned 18.5" and new 22.5" WSMs in October 2008 ($299 and $399, respectively) have never increased until now, nor has the MAP price for the 14.5" ($199) which came out in October 2013.

In 2000, Amazon started selling the 18.5" WSM 2820 for $179. It stayed at that price until 2006, when the price fluctuated between $199 and $249. In 2007, the price dropped back to $205 and eventually to $199.

In 2008, the price of the 18.5" WSM 2820 started the year at $199. The redesigned 18.5" WSM 721001 came out October 1 with a price of $299. There was some overlap of inventory between old and new WSM models, which caused fluctuations in the 2820 pricing from $199 to $205, $210, $220, $230, and $249.

BTW, the historical prices above come from my Amazon affiliate reports over the years.

22.5"$399$499$439$549

With three gassers and one Australian gas conversion in a 22.5 silver kettle, three charcoal kettles, a mini stock pot smoker and an 18.5 WSM. I'm not in the market for anything else and if I was I would go for a used Weber to refurbish, can't see paying the ridiculous prices for a new one.
