Water marks on kettle lid

Hi all,

I've had my kettle for about 8 months now and have been taking good care of it. I keep it covered when not in use and have cleaned it inside and out a few times. The lid, however, has these water mark lines that won't go away. I've trying the steel wool and simple green trick, but it doesn't do anything. Any advice on how to get the lid like new again would be great.

Alright so I used oven cleaner on the lid. Sprayed it on and let it sit for about 2 hours. Wiped it off and the water spots came off a little bit but now fully. I’ll try the windex next and see how that goes!

Mother's Mag & Aluminum Polish will get rid of the water spots and shine up the damper.....give it a try you might be surprised. It won't harm anything.

By the way, in the photo I see what look like fine scratches in the reflection of the sun. Just wanted to verify that you're using 0000 Super Fine steel wool, right? Others may scratch.
