That looks like the elusive plum color which I've never even seen in the wild until just now. Good find!

That’s a real beauty! I think he can get close to that if he is patient. These things are built like tanks compared to the newer ones and look and feel like a “real” Weber.
 
I just posted in the FS a green one brand new from NJ (not mine) after finding it on craigslist.

It seems that these guys are out there. I know that this is more classic, but the newer ones with the metal tops are pretty appealing as well.
