after a friend told me about getting corned beef hash from Black bear diner before we went golfing a couple weeks ago I've been wondering......... I remember frying up some canned stuff before but.

and then I saw this:

Ingredients:
1 tbsp butter
1 1/2 pounds cooked corned beef, diced
1 1/2 pounds white potatoes, peeled quartered
1/4 cup prepared roasted tomato salsa
2 clove garlic, crushed
1 bunch green onions, white parts chopped, green parts reserved for garnish
salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste

I used to LOVE the old canned “Broadcast” corned beef! Cut the ends out, push and slice! It is no longer available, the “Mary Kitchen” and Hormel stuff is no where near as good. I have since been Corning my own beeves and (if there are any leftovers) using that for homemade with onion, potatoes, peppers and cream. It’s delightful but, the canned stuff was such a quick easy cheap dinner with a fried egg.

February of last year I made "hash" using leftover meatloaf.

Hope your friends experience with Corned Beef Hash at the Black Bear Diner was better than mine several years ago. I saw it on the menu and nostalgia took over. My Mom used to make it for us as kids all the time and it sounded really good. I don't remember all the details at Black Bear, but it was terrible and I left most of it sitting on the plate. Now you (and Bob C.) have me longing for it all over again.

I'm gonna give canned another shot - I'll get a couple cans for the pantry anyway, but I want something that looks like Bob's or the video. I've never eaten @ bbd, but he said it was good and always enough leftover to take home for another meal so ?

I've done hash browns several times after seeing how ATK did theirs - I run a potato or two (russet) through the food processor, rinse in a colander, squeeze/press the water, & pan fry in a little butter or bacon grease if I have bacon.

I practiced hiking my bike today, then stopped at the store. I forgot half the stuff on my list but I got 3 cans of CBH, 2 from Nalley,1 western family. I fried up a can of nalley & it tasted about like I expected (dog food!). I fried it crispy and ate it with just some franks red hot. Super calorie dense - about 840 calories for the single can. Didn't even have any eggs to fry alongside it. Pretty good, but too energy dense - I'd feel better about eating a great big russet, 1/4 to 1/2 pound of meat, and 2-3 eggs instead (calorie count? I'd be less concerned)

That's what a thought,But my old Eyes aren't what they use to be... Baddest bike company around as far as I'm concerned...

I'm enjoying it! 27.5" wheels, it's a large but almost wish I'd have gone with an XL, even though it handles speed a lot better than my medium 07 stumpjumper. I haven't ridden much since 7/2012 when I injured my thumb, I rode mtb a couple times in 2016, repaired the wheels (re-packed the bearings, replaced a couple spokes etc), but something was wrong with the old bike - it'd work just fine around the house, & then it'd feel like the brakes were dragging, cutting my rides short and making me not trust taking the old bike too far into the wilderness.

I ate it twice yesterday - over the bars once, and fell 8' off the trail another time! both were low speed.
