Got a new smoker today. Been wanting this one for a long time.

Strange looking box, delivered today by Fed-Ex. 350 lbs.

She earned her silver wings. Time for his & her's drinks.
Smoke is billowing 10 miles north of Durango this time.
Looks like the historic Durango/Silverton started this one.
They are going t have to shut it down till things around here improve.
This one is the 416 Fire.

There is also a big fire in New Mexico.
Will be breaking in the M1 tomorrow.

Cool new toy, Russ! Looking forward to seeing that new guy doing it's thing and your impressions on it. Hope the fires stay clear of you guys.
 
You'll have fun with that Russ. It's fun to get something after waiting a long time. Your property looks lovely Russ. I love that ranch style living. Good luck with those fires.
 
Saw this video update on the 416 fire near Durango that Russ mentions above. There is a brief update during the second half of the video. It mentioned the footage was shot around 7 hours ago. Hope all is OK at your place Russ.

Yes, Dustin the M1 is a Hasty Bake on triple steroids. Very heavy steel. Weighs 350 lbs.
The charcoal grate moves up & down inside the smoker for reverse searing & whatnot.
The smoker box is built underneath & has a reverse flow aspect.
You can open up the vents & burn stick wood or you can close them down & use lump.

The last we heard the fire was at about 2000 acres with 10% containment. The train has been stopped till the 10th of June for sure.
 
That thing is a beast, can't wait to see how it works out for you.
Sure hope they get that fire under control, make sure you the Mrs. and the pups stay safe.
