What type of grates is this and what brush can I use?

Hello!

I just bought my first grill and decided to go with a Weber Spirit E-310 Classic. I started reading about grates material (stainless steel, ceramic coated and cast iron) and I'm not actually sure what these are?

My guess is that those are ceramic grates and I read that I can't use a metal brush to clean them. What do you guys think? The person at the store did not seem to have a clue. So far I've been cleaning them with a hard sponge but it would be sooo much easier with a metal brush of some kind.

Thanks in advance!

Those are the porcelain-coated steel grates and you can use a brass grill brush, like this one:

Those are in good condition now, but those are probably the cheapest grates that Weber used to sell.

I meant to say porcelain, not ceramic. Thanks for confirming! I'm not a huge fan of this material so far. I'm thinking to replace them with a cast iron grates next year or even this year already.
I'll still buy a brush tho. So brass brush then? The seller told me to buy this one (sorry for Finnish link) : https://www.bauhaus.fi/grilliharja-weber-kolmio-30-cm.html but I'm thinking the bristle aren't the same material as the one you posted.

Yah, I would probably use those grates until they crap out on you....probably not too long. Then buy some stainless steel grates. You can still get the stamped steel stainless grates for a good price or go up to solid rod Stainless steel or best yet, go with the RCPlanebuyer grates. But, while his grates are the best quality you can find, they are also expensive. A decent set of aftermarket Stainless solid rod grates are a great budget choice. Then you can use a brush that really has some grit behind it.
