Burgers and corn

I fired up the 22.5" kettle yesterday and made a couple burgers and some corn. I used a 90% lean home ground organic chuck beef with my pork rub mixed in and made 1/4# patties. I then made some turkey burgers with feta cheese and spinach leaves salt and pepper into 1/2# burgers. I setup the kettle with 2 zone heat and cooked them on the cool side. I finished the beef burgers with american and cheddar cheese and put some more crumbled feta on the turkey burgers. The corn was pre boiled and I placed them on the hot side to heat and brown them up a little. What a great day to cook yesterday!

The corn was pre boiled and I placed them on the hot side to heat and brown them up a little.

But why didn't you roast the corn on the grill? Wrap in aluminum foil or just roast in the husks. Takes maybe 30 - 45 minutes. Haven't cooked corn inside in years. My dad's influence.

Haven't cooked corn outside the husk in years, too. We soak it in a tupperware container filled with water in the fridge as soon as we get it home. Keeps for a week or so. Straight onto the grill for like you say -- 30 to 45. Nothing better. In a time pinch, I might nuke it for 5 minutes before grilling.

Burgers look, great, Joe! I think you just created my menu for when my wife has GNO this week......Will give me an excuse to grind up a fresh batch of burger mix, and, of course, to verify that I still know how to make/cook a burger! :)

Had our first corn of the year this weekend.....pretty good, even if I did just cook it on the stove! ;)

Burgers look great and the corn outstanding. That's the only way I cook my corn. Butter, EVOO and some seasoning.

Nothing better that BBQ burgers. Sweet corn is showing up in the farmer's markets now. Can't wait to BBQ some corn
