had a couple friends in town last night, we grilled & drank and had a pretty good time :)

I've only cooked live lobsters in the past, so this gigantic lobster tail was new. At the meat counter there were some that were split & the meat was popped out just a little, but the big tail didn't have that. I cut the top (underside) of the tail & cracked it open as much as I could (not much) and wedged some pats of butter in there, & then it it with some SPOG. Since it was much bigger than the other 2 steaks we gave it a 5 minute head start.

We put the hurt on a bottle of 1800 Reposado, it was really good over ice but many of them were mixed with a little lime, simple syrup, and added some cilantro too (had that included @ a "martini" bar one time)

I’m not a fan of fish, generally, but I love me some swordfish!! Looks like a great spread and sounds like a fun time!

Nice spread of food Clint. Lobster has been on my to grill list for a while. Need to remedy that.

It looked decadent! I seriously wanted a fork-full as she pulled a couple bites out for her BF! I was jealous but happy with my own food & drink.

The lobster tail was the big one, there were some for $6, some for $8, and this one was $12-$13, not sure the weight of any of them.

had one yellowfin tuna steak leftover, so I thawed it, hit it with lemon pepper & then some SPOG and let it sit out for an hour or so

I drizzled (poured too much) some EVOO on it:

put the corn on the grill on high for ~10 minutes, then on with the fish.

.....that's where it got interesting. The grill caught on fire! I got about 1.5 minutes per side by the time I realized the extra EVOO caused a fire that was going to burn out so I grabbed the plate & decided to eat it. I'd probably have cooked it for another minute per side, but judging from what I see this was about perfect.

The grill, OTOH, turned stinky & toxic about 2 minutes later while it did it's burn-off.

and that's one more reason charcoal is better than gas!
