I marinated my last tri-tip in teriyaki and habanero sauce since ~8:30am, put it on the grill around 5:30pm.

ouch! - I closed the top vent halfway to control the heat. I only had a single zone charcoal layout------normally I pile it up in the side so this was something new.

White rice w/ spog thrown in at the beginning (worked as good as I expected)

I used a some mesquite chips for the smoke flavor. Flavor was delicious, but I'd have preferred a ribeye for the tenderness for this anyway.

Looks good Clint. I like top sirloin for marinating, but if you go much past rare it can get really tuff. Never tried marinating a TT.

I did a tequila lime marinated TT a few years back and it was really good. I bet this teriyaki TT was very tasty. Nice pics Clint.

Bob, I’ve been making teriyaki marinades for a long time but, never one quite like the Bobby Flay one you linked. Thanks!
I like to keep a bottle or two of something on hand for “last minute” feasting emergencies.

Great caramelized crust and color from the sugars in Teriyaki. Plated slices couldn't look better! Great job! Now I'm officially hungry...

You got some great looking color on that TT Clint. The Costco's around here have been selling pre-marinated tri tips for years and they're not bad. Bet yours was delicious. Plain white Jasmine rice is one of my all time favorites.

Man all these Tri tip posts has me craving TT. Even better is yours the triple T! Looks great!
