where to start?

Hi,

about ten years ago I thought about building a heatmeter but was really busy with work, bought a bbq guru digiq and promised myself I'd build one when I retired. Well, that day here, I retired about 1.5 years ago and my digiq broke this week.

I don't own a soldering iron, so I can order what makes sense. I used to do some light soldering for work 35 years ago (rs232 connections during computer downtime) but haven't been back to it since. I may have a voltimeter somewhere that one of our kids used for a project.

So how to get started? which build? where to buy parts?

any help would be appreciated!

best,

If you don't see yourself doing any soldering after this project, you might be best to head over to the heatermeter store or this page to get yourself a pre-built unit. You can also order pre-built units from Auber.

If you're looking for the fun and excitement of building one yourself, you can pickup a build kit at the heatermeter store.

There's also a lot of info on the wiki page.
