It's been a long time since I cooked a ribeye, and today was the last day they were on sale for $5.99/lb so I grabbed a pack. I resisted loading more up after I saw how thick they were cut; if there was more room in my freezer I'd have bought more than the 2 pack (2.5# total)

I wanted to cook them hot so I filled up the smokey joe most of the way & hit it with some mapp gas, and when it was going, I threw on a handful of mesquite chips.

I only cooked it 4 minutes per side - I expected it to be 8 minutes per side for med-rare but the crust was what I was expecting after the first flip, I took it off after the 2nd. It was a good meal!

I'd call ahead and make a reservation for a plate like this! That steak is spot on perfection!!
Great job!

You nailed that Ribeye cook! Plated picture screams!!! If you see Chuckeyes in your store, grab them and cook them exactly like you did your Ribeye. You'll love em' and they're usually half the price of a Ribeye

Oh Clint why eat out at a steak house when you can have a beauty like that at home without leaving a tip.
Very nice plate shoot sir.

Great looking meal Clint. Rib Eyes are our absolute favorite. However, I did see some mighty fine T-Bones in Costco on our last trip.

Steak and Potatoes, It's whats for dinner in my best Sam Elliot voice....Looks Tasty Clint.

Nice marbling on the rib eye ............ how long were the potatoes on ?

I don't exactly remember....I put them in the microwave for a few minutes (~3 min?), then onto the grate while the coals were warming up but the lid was off. I ran out thinking that I'd walk out to burned spuds but nope. I had to finish them in the microwave too... they picked up a little smoke flavor and were good.
