Q:
while cracking off an old control knob on a 99' Genesis 3000 LX-LP side burner, I accidentally cranked the vertical manifold knob to far right. now it turns on ok..high/low when turned
left, but unfort. it does NOT stop at the 12/6 o'clock straight up position with the stop/notch/catch switch that it normally should. it stops straight up when I do it, just not on its own. --and now, it can turn all the way to the right, stopping at the 4pm position. it now allows the gas to run on when turned to both the left and right...is this bad?

You can still use it but IMO it will be a little dangerous since anyone else may not realize it, or it can be moved and gas could be leaking without your knowledge

That's an unknown. I have never been put in the situation. I think they're different valves but I have never had one apart
