Spatchcock Chicken on Q300

Did my first chicken on my Q300 today. Spatchcocked the bird, light rub with olive oil all over. Liberal coating of coarse Kosher salt and cracked black pepper. Preheated the grill to 400, then turned the outer burner to low, inner burner off. Cooked for about 60 minutes without turning, but checked often to make sure there was no burning. Temp held at about 300 consistently. Turned out great. Nice and juicy with a crispy, golden skin.

That sounds great. My Q100 is a little small for bird and with a single burner, it would be hard to keep from burning it. But, I am planning spatchcock for a 16lb turkey on my Genesis 1000 for Thanksgiving. I can't wait.
