Is it normal to have a quick disconnect coming off that 1/8" adapter?

Also, I just got the 3/8" flare x 1/8" NPT adapters and installed it and my new regulator hose on my grill. Worked perfectly. Interestingly, I noticed my grill has TWO extra ports on the manifold with 1/8" NPT plugs in them. The gunk on them is just soapy water from me testing the new propane connections with soapy water.

Could that be one for a side burner, and one for a gas light??

Only if the manifold was originally on a grill with a side burner. As for the 2 NPT plugs that's a new one. I wonder if that fitting has something to do with that flame safety check button on some models? Since I have never even seen one of those I have no way to know

From memory the flame check device is between the gas in line and the manifold. (currently a long way away from my grills, unable to check)
