The local market had rump roast on sale. Besides the traditional crockpot meals. Does anyone have recommendations on using up these rump roast.

Rump?
Just cut in thick slices and eat as steak.
It's the most popular type of steak here (maybe rivalled by T-bone, but definitely beats fillet in taste).

Or use as satay or kebab

Yea I hit a sale also, bought an 18 and 14# still in cryo. Normally I see these tied and or rolled in netting in the 3-4# range.
They have the shape of a brisket so the smaller one is going on the WSM, L&S till Medium rare then break it down and do a quick sear over coals to finish.
I'm doing that for the games tomorrow so I'll let you know how it turns out.

I know I did em before ( and quite a few other members) but all the old links are broken, anyhew add some smoke and cook low and slowish ( bout 250) till internals reach 110. Then tent it and crank whatever grill or smoker you're using and sear it till it reaches 130.
I rubbed mine with a slather of EVO, SPOG and worsh, crust came out amazing and the roast ( cut across the grain) was perfect.!
