EO Performer

So I just picked up a black EO code performer. There seems to be plenty of life left in both grates, the cart is in good shape, and there isn't any rust that I've found on the frame. The gas assist has been removed.
I didn't notice that the bowl itself has rust, and is rusted through in some spots. The one-touch system is seized up as well, and parts of it are missing.

I've got pictures but I've got to get them hosted somewhere before I can share.

Is ereplacementparts.com my best bet?

Depends how much you want to restore. I know older one touch had different Ash catcher mounts and not sure about the sweeper. Amazon has the new sweepers. The bowl is probably the hardest to rehab. You can always find a free black donor kettle bowls that you'll have to bolt up somehow. If you want gas assist then that wil be harder

This is the part that concerns me the most. I've got a kettle I could donate to this cause. (My wife told me I had to get rid of it if I got the performer. Technically...) Anybody have any pointers?

I'm sure there are some suggestions here if you search. A guy built a 26 performer but he welds.the hardest part will be getting brackets that fit.

Quick Google search found this guys idea. Cannibalized existing brackets.

That first link is amazing. I'm not a welder, nor do I have access to one, but I recently spoke with someone whose son apparently has a penchant. I wonder how much trouble it'd be to get the current brackets off this bowl... I'll look into it this evening.

Since you have a black Performer, I'd be inclined to find a kettle on Craig"s List to cannibalize. Around here, you could get a pretty nice one for $40 plus or minus. & no tax or shipping. You have the old bowl, so you can take measurements &/or make templates as necessary. You only need to drill a few holes. The hole for the gas assist isn't too hard - you just need to be careful.

You can make you own brackets. A jig saw, a drill, a hammer & a vice to bend the tabs is all you need.
