They say it's a 22", but it's an 18"

The newer 22" kettles do have a vent on the side of the handle, but also have a taco shaped handle shield and a thermometer.
Older 22's had the vent at the end of the handle, 18's were on the side.

I don't recall newer 22" lids coming with a thermometer on a basic, no-frills, kettle. Have things changed?
