Another interesting option. Half the price of David's version, but David's material looks to be twice as thick. These have a gap around the bottom like the original Weber version, David's do not.

I just started using my charcoal baskets again after about a year of using fire bricks. They're great for 2 maybe 3 hour cooks, and then they kind of choke the charcoal out. But if you want to cook wings in a kettle and don't want to throw down the $70+ for a vortex, the charcoal baskets get er' done
I'm in the market for baskets.does lack of the gap cause any issues with expansion and warping? I start on performer propane and them slide them into position. Warping makes it difficult to slide.

Chuck, go to Walmart and buy a SS dog bowl I got a medium for my JJ and cut the bottom off. Got the real deal for the performer. $1.89 vs. $70.00 both work the same. I've got at least 20 cooks on the dog bowl one and it's still as good as new.
