BTU Rating Needed for Genesis 1000 LX

Hi.

We screwed up. We bought a GREAT looking natural gas grill, a nice green Genesis 1000 LX (Model # 310000, Serial Number Prefix "EI") to replace the crap Charbroil grill we use at our gun club. We went to hook it up last night and realized that the "hard connection" to the building was for LP! There's an LP manifold connected to the building, delivering, according to the gas company lineman who's a member, 11 psi. We need to order replacement orifices for the grill so we can run LP instead of NG.

According to what I've read, they'll need 3 things - the PSI delivered (11psi), the number of burners (3), and the BTU rating of the grill.

I BELIEVE it's a 36,000 BTU grill. Can anybody confirm this?

Thanks!
Kris

It is but just replacing the orifices will not do the job. The valves themselves are different between a NG and LP grill. So in either case you will still need an LP manifold and valve set. Since you have LP already regulated down to 11" WC than you will not need the regulator. You can hook the line up directly to the proper manifold and you're good to go.
