Take me out to the ballgame (on the deck)

Heat and humidity broken, near perfect weather, for now.
Jo was at a bunco game last night, just me and the pooch to fend for ourselves.
Put a Texas made Kiolbassa garlic link, and a couple of stuffed clams from Aldi on the grill.

Poured some Jim Beam over some rocks, and kicked back with the Cards-Pirates game.

Basted the stuffing with butter, and time to eat.

Dinner was good, but my Cards lost, again.

With Jo now retired she has even more time for her flowers, around the house and on the deck.
I tell her it's overkill, but actually like them beautifying my grilling area.

Have a great weekend!

I have fond memories of hanging out around the grill on the patio while my dad was grilling, and listening to the ball game on the am radio. The technology has come a ways since then, but still a simple pleasure to enjoy a game in your own yard. Nice grub, Bob, and the flowers look great! ;)

I bought that same kind of sausage last year at Costco, can't find them there this summer.
Enjoy that "big screen" :)

Nice to have a bachelor night every once in a while. Thanks for reminding me about Jim Beam, just stopped by the store to pick some up. I see a big screen coming to that deck in the near future.

Great minds think alike! Your Bachelor meal looks much healthier than mine Bob. And the portion size is much more sensible also. Mine looked like a caveman feast but I didn't quite eat all of it. I had to chuckle seeing your blue Performer sided up with your 14 WSM on the Weber Table. I have the exact same duo set up frequently on my grilling area.

PS... Sorry about your Cards. Know what you're feeling... only way worse. They're only 5 games out. Giants 22.5 games out with no hope. Hang in there.

Nice simple meal, Bob. I haven't been to an Aldi in years. Maybe I should pay them a visit?

Nice looking flowers to go along with your privet in the background. My wife is filling up the house and porch with flowers too. She even talks to them on occasions.

Sorry about the Cards. It would be nice to see another Dizzy Dean in our lifetime.

Looks like a great time, Bob, along w/ some great grub. Our weather broke here too - 82 and low humidity and a nice breeze right now. It's just gorgeous. I've got the Performer fired up for a late-ish dinner and am sorta following your lead w/ the Nats game just finishing inside.

PS: haven't had stuffed clams in a while and I love 'em. Need to see what I can get @ the store.

Bob, that dinner looks great nice and simple. Tell Jo great job on the flowers it looks awesome.

Nice looking one guys dinner. Looks like you're getting a break from the heat and humidity, we are too at least the heat the humidity has been 6-8% here for weeks. Jo truly has a green thumb, deck looks great.

I'm hoping Bob had the phone turned down and KMOX turned up...the Cards have one of the best in John Rooney, although it's still tough to forgive him for bailing on the White Sox after the '05 season. And to be honest, nobody here in WI is sad that it's a down season in St. Louis, just as long as they finish ahead of that other Chicago team.

Those packaged stuffed clams (I buy the Matlaw's brand) are great on the grill. After they've cooked for awhile and softened I like to dent them and drizzle in some olive oil, but butter would also be great.
