Whole, wild sockeye at CosctCo @ $8.99/lb. After some (not super skilled) knife work, I had:

Some of this will get grilled, the rest will be brined and smoked low. Pictures at 11 (or whenever.) :)

BTW, for you accounting nerds, after my carving job, I ended up with 3 lbs of usable salmon, netting me $15/lb trimmed. The bonus being that I get the skin, bones and attached flesh for some fish stock! Yum! :)

Bob, it wasn't a question of IF someone would make that comment, just WHO!!! :)

Brine: mix salt and sugar in cold water, add salmon. pour cold root beer in separate container, drink. :p

Ah, based on that first pic, I'm guessing that is the elusive largemouth salmon?
 
A headless salmon followed you home? That's stretching it, imho. & look what you did to it when it got there!
