I went a little nuts breaking in my WSM this weekend, but my family didn't seem to mind.

Saturday
I setup my smoker Friday night for an overnight cooking session. I put a pork butt on the top rack and a beef chuck roast on the bottom. The pork butt was dinner on Saturday:

The chuck roast was for Sunday's dinner:

Sunday
I used the chuck roast to make a filling for gorditas:

Monday

Finally, I smoked a turkey breast for the first time in something like 16 years or so. It was my favorite for the weekend:

Calico Beans (what our family called them) with PP. YUM!!!!

So that's what they're called! My wife makes them from a recipe she got from her mother, but it has no name and we never really knew what to call them. We don't call them "baked beans" because they're different and we have another recipe for those. I usually refer to them as "those kick-a** beans that go well with BBQ butt". It rolls right off the tongue, dont'cha think?
