I did almost the same thing yesterday on my 14.5" WSM, but was too hungry for picture taking, lol.
 
Never thought of doing large Meatballs like that, great idea. What finish temp are you taking them to like a medium rare?

I take them to 150, carryover cooking will bring 'em to about 160.
I do medium rare when I grind my own meat.
 
I see these in my future, like maybe tomorrow while I do some lawn work, should have done them today! I was out there more brickwork, filling pots etc.
Friggin rain tomorrow if the weather guessers are right for once!
