Yesterday deb & I took the dogs for a hike up the mountain.

We didn't go to the very end. Just the 3 miles in.

Beaver Creek

High country geese

It was a uphill hike to where we stopped. Bear Creek.

Me & the dogs. This is where we stopped.

Ponderosa Tree, it's huge. The most beautiful pine tree in Colorado.

We walked/hiked 8-9 miles. I saw one bobcat, a coyote, geese, 200 chipmunks and had a great day.
Hard to find a place to go hike where there are no people anymore. Even here in Colorado.
All in all quite a hike for the old Grill Goat & his better half. She was a little sore the next day. But she's pretty tough. lol
I'm heading back up in a few days. See you all there.

Nice scenery Russ, I used to do that sort of hiking up in the eastern sierras near Bishop Ca. until the ticker started going south on me. Hike up to a isolated lake and fly fish for a few hours and if I was lucky take a few stock rainbows back for dinner. Miss that.

Looks beautiful there Russ. I'm looking for a retirement place, we've looked at many places in several states. But I don't think we've looked in your neck of the woods...may have to fix that

Looks like a great day, Russ. I love your part of the world and miss when I used to get to travel out to CO on a regular basis. It is one of the very few places where I could see myself living outside of Virginia.

Great scenery!

I heard the snow-pack was very deep this year in Colorado.

Love southern Virginia, Jim.
