Hickory Hickory Bacon Barter for Morels

I named it hickory hickory smoked bacon since I used Kingsford Hickory for the snake fuse with hickory chunks on top.
The theory for the double row start was to get 'er up and smoking good, then lower the temp for a longer smoke.
Worked well at first, but the wind kicked up and after about an hour my grate temp had climbed to 190 and I wanted 160 to 170, so I broke it into a single row.

It was a cool day yesterday for smoking bacon, 52F, 3 days ago we tied a record high of 88F, perfect 70F today.

Sunday coulda been nicer if son took the wrong turn, ended up in Raymond, I got bacon ALSO to barter...
perhaps not as good as yours, nonetheless, homemade bacon.

I believe my next quest will be to taste the incredible, extraordinary and indescribably aura of morel mushrooms.
 
Your bacon is amazing. Did your son grow those mushrooms or harvest them? Tomorrow's breakfast sounds amazing. Cards are doing pretty well, sitting mid pack.
 
Looks terrific Bob. We love mushrooms and hardly a day goes by that we don't pick some up when we go shopping, but I've never seen Morels anywhere around here (same thing with Hatch Chiles). Guess we'll have to make a day trip down to Sacramento or wait until we're down in the Bay Area again. Good to see your son keeping you well stocked.
