Very nice work. I've done a few and you're right the first one is a steep learning curve.
Here you guys are going to hit 100 today, think I'll stay up here in the high country;)

Looks fantastic! Did you "make" the z brackets out of L brackets?

yes! 1/16” x ¾ aluminum L bracket from LOWES. I cut length to fit both top/bottom shelf, then glued together w/ liquid nails. then sprayed zinsser 1/2/3 primer 2 coats and finished w/ above noted rustoleum high heat black 2 coats....BEWARE!! next time I will most likely HAND apply primer AND paint...the primer was SO powerful/force out of can, the final finish had some streaks/bubbles. ALSO: the rustoleum paint did NOT on certain parts of grill (hood sides) like/absorb well to primer. this may of been from some of my prep sanding or just texture of the primer? lesson learned....the black spray paint adhered ok to frame & grill bucket but not perfect on hood sides, due to spray pressure (minute drip lines). overall, AWESOME result, just for my next grill I think hand painting the Z brackets and hood sides is the way to go..pics attach:

The Z brackets give a lot of people problems, so it's great you showed what you did!

All about passing it on!

Slainte!

Just scored one of these on CL for $40. Can't wait to get it home and really look it over. Same grill with out side burner. Need a good cleaning and wood replaced on handle and side table. One of the grease tray slides is loose, rusted screw, igniter needs replaced, It is a redhead. Not sure of year, late 90s probably, or exact model.

Monsoon rain kept us from loading up yesterday.
