Summit Charcoal Grilling Center Question

Quick question: Does the charcoal bin on the Summit Charcoal Grilling Center attach to bottom shelf at all?

I came across what I think is a great opportunity to buy a Summit Charcoal Grilling Center this weekend. It apparently was a left over floor model. However, the Charcoal bin is just sitting on the lower the shelf, and there are some scratches on the shelf from people moving the bin in and out. Is this how is it normally sits? Or is there some other mechnism such as a slide or tilt like my Performers? The store will let it go for $1300, but I want to make sure it's not missing something that'll cost big to install. Thanks! Here is the grill...

Hi Chris - Yes, the charcoal bin just slides in and out by itself, it's not missing a part. Sounds like you found a pretty amazing deal! Good luck!

Run--do not walk--and pickup that grill for $1300!

When I bought mine new, I solved the scratch problem by covering that surface with a piece of black ABS plastic. I just hate scratches on my grills!

LOL. Thanks for the info guys ... Chris... I was thinking about a rubber mat. I like your idea better. I should have known better and did a search. Thanks for the link... I put a $100 deposit down on Sunday. They are holding it for me. I'll probably pick it up in two weeks.

Well, 2 weeks turned into 3 months somehow, and when I checked with the dealer I was somewhat surprised they were still holding the grill for me, so, I pulled the trigger and brought it home! It's much nicer looking in person than in pics. I am really looking forward to my first cook on it!
