Can I swap the red lid and Fire box from the red grill to the black grill frame? I want to keep my rcplane buyer stainless steel grates and flavorizer bars.

I don't think you will be able to swap the fireboxes. You can swap the lids though.

What year is the silver? Going by the burners and I'm assuming you would keep the burners you have in the red head. The 2002-2004 burners are shorter than the red heads by 1 3/16" I don't know if that's because of the fire box being shorter on the silver. I would measure the fire box to see. I would think that it would be the same as I believe the lids are interchangeable. I would transfer the whole thing including the manifold to make sure every thing will line up properly.
Good luck and let us know how it works out.

If you decide to try changing out fireboxes be careful when you remove that bolt that secures it to the frame. Those are prone to rusting and snapping off when you try to remove them. Pb blaster and a lot of patience worked well on mine.

As someone else said the lid is easy to switch out.

I believe that you will have to change the manifold also, like Rich said. I had the same two grills and ended up sticking with the firebox from the Genesis Gold and just using the Redhead lid on it.

Here is mine.
