Refurbised Q grills

With the durability of these grills, it makes little sense to pay $250 for Q grill. Through garage sales and craigslist, I have found the following grills and took to refurbishing them.
This grill I found at a garage sale with a price tag of $25. I offered $15 and they took it. I figured, heck, the portable cart is worth more than that. I cleaned it out and repainted it and it works like a new grill now. I used Rustoleum Ultra High heat which is supposed to be good to 1200F. The only issue still left on the grill is there is a fluttering noise in the regulator which according to Weber Customer service is not a problem, just an annoyance. I don't mind it so, I don't replace the regulator. The grill lights and burns perfectly.

Here is the paint that I used:

This is another Q200 that I found. I got it for $60 to include the stand. It was in worse shape to start with but cleaned up nicely and looks and works perfectly now.

And the Paint I used. It is rated up to 1200F, so I think it will be more than adequate for these grills which likely won't get more than half that hot:

And a super killer deal, I got this Q1400 Electric off of Craigslist for $25. The guy said he used it one time for a camping trip....I believe it. It took me 15 minutes to clean what little gunk was on the grate and in the bottom bowl.

Great job on the refurbs !!! I live in the SF Bay Area and never seen good deals on the Q-series Webers. My Q220 is 12+ years old and has many great meals.

The copper colored Q200 is a 2003 model and the Silver one is a 2007 model. I also have two Q100's and a Q1400 (electric). The Q1400 is a 2014 model and I am not sure what the year is on the two Q100's...they are both older though, but still in good working shape other than needing new grates.

I am working on a Q120 with cart and 20lb tank adapter for $60. I think that would be a good price. I hope to find out tomorrow if I will get it. I would like to try cleaning up a smaller grill.

Yah, there is a lot of shopping involved and they don't show up all that often. More often it is the kettle charcoal grills on craigslist. You either have to hit craigslist at least one or two times a day or set a craigslist alert that will email you when one is posted. The early bird gets the good deals.

Here is what I have set up. Anything on the two CL that has "Weber Grill" in the title or body will notify me by my account email.

I sold two of my three Q200's. Each with a stand for $100 a piece. I still have a Q200 and Q100 left and tonight, I picked up a Spirit two burner for free. It needs work, but I think I can bring it back to life.
