Smoke wood question

Hi Jamie,

Thanks for letting us pick your brain. I would like to know what your thoughts are about small (or large) amounts of bark left on smoke wood. I have always thought bark was not good to use, but I have heard some say they don't mind it. I always make sure there is no bark on my wood, but does it matter? Thanks.
 
Bark is not a problem. I have never noticed a bad taste from bark. Pitmasters have been smoking with bark-covered logs for centuries.
