I'll be judging barbecue waaaay out in the Nevada desert...practically in Arizona...on Saturday, May 7 at the Smokin In Mesquite BBQ Championship in Mesquite, NV. My first out of state judging experience...at the lovely Casablanca Resort & Casino...$40,000 in cash and prizes. If you're gonna be there, look for me in the TVWB logo shirt and ball cap and say "hello"!

Have fun at this comp, Chris ! Excellent site for this particular event.
You'll have to tell us what the judging area was like since some spent time in a certain team's trailer last year... ;)

Wishing Vincent and his team Rhythm 'N Que, BBQ Excellence in Mesquite !

Chris, I'm sure you will enjoy yourself, when we judged last year they took really good care of us. Lee and I will be there again this year. Looking forward to seeing another familiar face.

If RnQ will be there, hopefully I will be slightly less bbq-geeky should I bump into Vince while walking through the casino again (my wife still makes fun of me for that one occasionally...)

Chris "The Virtual Weber Bulletin Board" Allingham is available for various types of business opportunities that can include, but are not limited to; motivational keynote speaking engagements, personal appearances, endorsements of products, and memorabilia autograph signing events. Unfortunately, due to the number of appearance requests made directly to him, he no longer accepts invitations for free appearances or free autograph signings. Please contact me for any appearance opportunities, at which point I will communicate with the talent, and will be in touch with you immediately.

Please watch for Mr. Allingham's upcoming appearance on BBQ TV (once I have completed negotiations with the producers for payment of his customary fees and residual agreement).

Very funny, Scott. :-| Scott and I were seated together for judging and our table was selected by BBQ TV to offer commentary on the pork entries. Scott was angling to somehow get TVWBB in front of the camera for some free publicity...but the camera was focused on the pork on the judging plate. Our faces were not shown and our identities were not revealed. So Scott failed miserably in his audition as my PR agent. :D

Seriously, it was fun seeing Scott and his wife Lee in the Judging Ballroom (how often can you say that?) and Vince and Alexa of Rhythm 'N Que with their U-Haul trailer/WSM wind break--congrats on 16th overall, and I see your brisket was NOT last place ;-) . I also ran into TVWBB member JSteffen from Las Vegas...he was there with a friend as Glazed and Infused BBQ, their first competition with two WSMs in tow, and they did not finish last!

Here are a few pics...sorry I don't have more. I guess I was transfixed by the water features...

Thunderstorms on I-15 heading back to Las Vegas.

Speaking of Thunder, everyone should have seen Chris at the "Thunder from Down Under" try-outs. Although I failed in my audition to be his PR person, he wowed the executives at his audition with his newly trademarked move, "The Jiggly Brisket".

Looking forward to seeing you again in Norco... and now sign up for San Fran, or I'll make you go to Gilroy instead... ... ...
