Thermocouple probe location

I just built myself a Heater Meter and plan to install a thermocouple probe onto my 18.5" WSM and was wondering where people think would be the best location to mount it.

I could mount it into the lid so it would work similar to the thermometer or I could install it into the body like between the top and bottom grate.

Not sure what all that thermocouple stuff iz... however... if it's a temp probe in the cooker.... I'd suggest 1" +/- above the top grate & a bit away from the side of the cook chamber. It should be easily position-able.

Mount to which ever grill your cooking on (slightly above). You want to read the temp of where the meat is, not anywhere else.
