DIY Slide out side table?

I have a Genesis that I purchased off Craigslist. I am finishing up the restoration on it. It didn't come with a slide out table but I'd like to add one. It has some of the brackets that attach to the frame. Any thoughts on how I would improvise the side table mechanism? I'm thinking a wood cutting board would work just fine for this.

Get a good plastic cutting board. Sam's Club has a decent one that can be cut down to size
