My buddy John just finished writing an instructable about a hardware hack to increase the range of the Maverick Wireless thermometer. Thought someone might find it useful:

Wow great post RobM, tell your friend John the same. Possibly the only thing Id suggest is simply adding a dab of caulking to the hole where the antenna exits the case to prevent water or anything else from entering the case. However that is a great fix to a problem many of us have. Thanks again and good work!

Rob,

I noticed that your friend modified the transmitter and Shawn's modification was to the receiver. Which would be best to modify, or doesn't it matter?

Suppose you could do both but usually you are walking around with the receiver and the xmitter is stationary.
