Grill Out Times: Volume 1 - August 1995

The first issue, the one that started it all. There was only one issue of Grill Out Times in 1995, and it was mailed out in August. It's the only issue labeled by month. Later issues were labeled by season, e.g. Spring or Fall.

The Weber logo is shown prominently on the cover in the upper left hand corner, making the title read "Weber Grill Out Times". The logo was dropped in later issues.

In this issue:

  • On Your Decks...Get Set...Grill! Mike describes the response Weber received from customers about the idea of Weber starting to publish a newsletter. They received "tens of thousands of recipes, stories, tips and questions. And the photos!" Future issues will include recipes and grilling tips, special offers, culinary tips, safety and cleaning tips, and reader questions and stories.
  • Customer Service Manager Barbara Cann addresses customer concerns.
  • "Grilling guru" Betty Hughes answers your grilling questions and offers tips for savvy cooks.
  • Recipes for spareribs, chicken breasts, grilled chicken & fusilli pasta, grilled corn on the cob, barbecue sauce, and strawberry shortcake.
  • Grilling tips for fish steaks, fillets, and whole fish, plus a marinade recipe.
  • Tips for cleaning your grill.
  • Call the Weber Grill-Line for all your grilling questions.
  • Get accessories like videos, aprons, mitts, and chimney starters.
I want to offer a big TVWBB thank you to Andy for providing this very special first issue for our collection.

The chimney starter was $14.99 in 1995 and $14.99 in 2015... Very cool newsletter. Thanks Chris and Andy.
