TVWBB Fan
removed my Raspberrypi but plugged in 12 power by mistake. I don't have the regulator installed for stand alone
Now the display only show solid white boxes on the top row. Looks like I cant get into the rspi anymore too. Bad day working on this.
??????

Any Ideas

OK got into the with cable connection, HM is running fine So is my display hosed, or IC3 fried ?

Where did you plug 12V into? Operating standalone without the 3.3V regulator won't work but it certainly won't harm anything. Unless you plugged 12V into where 5V was supposed to go.
 
I would suggest adjusting the LCD pot. I had a similar "problem". I tested the board out using the RPi micro USB and adjusted the LCD pot to nice and viewable. When I switched to powering directly from the HM, the screen was blank(ish). I too thought I had fried something until I adjust the pot again.
 
The frist thing I did was adjust the pot. I have tried powering both ways>
I am waiting on card to be re-imaged then will reload it all and try again.
 
Has been working for about 2 weeks, before it quit yesterday. Good thing is it's back to working, not sure were the problem was but it is solved now.
