Looking to tag along any team to learn in Los Angeles

Just as it states, looking to tag along with a comp team to see how the big boys do it. Currently i'm a student @40 at L.A. trade tech (culinary)and my passion is bbq, but now the need is to learn to make really great smoke bbq. Would love to go two a couple of events to get the hang of things. U can reach me at 909-702-7742. Willing to be a gopher (u know go get that go get those,haha) don't have a problem with helping set up or cleaning or whatever.

Mark, if you haven't already, you might sign up at Calif BBQ Association, CBBQA. The comp arm in this state. Make your request there and most of the comps in Calif will be represented by teams belonging to CBBQA.

That's a good idea Mark! I plan on attending my first comp in Costa Mesa on the 6/11. Not looking to compete, but just to check it out. Oh, just saw that their is one in Brentwood in May. That's not too far either.

Hate to harsh your buzz man, but that "Brentwood" is in Nor Cal.

Oh man, I was thinking of Brentwood in West L.A.

I'm planning on attending the Costa Mesa comp in June. Not as a competitor just spectating.

I'd like to get started in competition BBQ, but witht he kids sports I don't seem to have time.

That Costa Mesa comp is a great one. That was the first comp I ever visited. This year, I might be there to actually participate.

thnx for the reply guys, didn't check this for a bit, had finals the last week, costa mesa looks like a winner to me. We should get together for that one luis.
