Is Maverick ET-732 compatible with earlier Maverick probes?

I recently got a WSM (18.5) and a Maverick ET-732. I love both, and one of the first mods I plan on doing is providing a port for the probes. Before I take a drill to the smoker, I want to see if there is a less invasive option. From what I have read, the probes for the earlier Maverick probes will fit through the existing holes without drilling. Will probes from any of the earlier Maverick thermometers work with the ET-732? If that is an option, I would rather buy new probes than drill a hole in my smoker. I just emailed the question to Maverick also but thought I'd check here as well.

Mark, the most non-invasive way is drop the prob in thru the exhaust vent on the top of the lid. I spoke with Maverick yesterday. They will have longer probes for the 732 next month. I don't believ the 73 prob can be used with the 732.

Thanks for the info on the longer probes. Maverick got back to me promptly with an answer: the earlier probes are not compatible with the ET-732.
