Hi Jamie!
I don't own a copy of you're new book, but curious how you measure temps on you're own equipment, and on the road.
Some of us with older WSM's, OTG's or silvers stick a thermo in the top-vent, or install one at the lid, or use a wired probe to check temps at grate level.
If you had to pick one, which would it be and why?
Thank's so much for answering our questions, and you're apple brined turkey with big time gravy has been a family favorite for yrs.

Hi Tim,

I used to drop a thermometer into the top vent. That worked pretty well, but it obviously restricted how far I could close the vent. I haven't use the other ways you mentioned. The thermometer-in-the-vent routine always gave me accurate temps, which is exactly what I wanted.

It's great to know you and your family like that turkey recipe. Thanks.

Jamie
