    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

Exactly! Yes, the two on the left are the ones that went bad. The one on the right, labelled "TIANKONGRC", seems to be much better. [/IMG] It would not fit the keyhole slot, so I had to use a small rat tail file and relieve it a bit. But works fine. I'll be sure and post some negative...

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

Well the issue was not the damper plate or how tight the screw was. When I took the servo out of the case it still would stick every other time at about 25 - 30 percent. I replaced it with a different brand of servo that seems much, much smoother and also has not stuck once so far. Been outside...

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

After a bit more searching I did find temperature specs on HobbyKing.com for similar servos listed as 0-55 Celsius - so theoretically the servos can take that heat. https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigytm-mg90s-ds-mg-servo-1-8kg-0-10sec-18g.html...

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

RD3 still sticking Ralph and Bryan - thank you both for the responses. So I trimmed the servo and fan wires as short as practical, stripped the ends and re-tinned them. Then punched them down properly in the RJ45 jack, I inspected the rotating and static parts of the damper. It looked like...

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

My first two burns with the RD3 were great. But the last burn, not a long one just grilling some corn and dogs, I noticed it was running hotter than it should. When I shutdown I noticed the RD3 was stuck open. I hooked it back up in side but could not get it to respond. When I took it apart the...

Heatermeter Aux. Thermocouple And two probe board V6.1(Final Version)

Thanks everyone for chiming in - I think I'm set now. Looks like the PCB is the slowest thing to ship - it's being made today but will not be back in until June 28th. Getting it built for brisket on the 4th will be tight.

Heatermeter Aux. Thermocouple And two probe board V6.1(Final Version)

Never mind - it was my eyes, I was looking at the order lead time, not the quantity on hand (11,000+). However now it seems the thermocouple socket is not in stock at Newark, the alternative they list has a minimum quantity of 100. Any suggestions on where to look? Thank you much - Richard

Heatermeter Aux. Thermocouple And two probe board V6.1(Final Version)

If my eyes are working right the part in your link shows an 18 week back order - was that a typo? Thanks - Richard

Heatermeter Aux. Thermocouple And two probe board V6.1(Final Version)

I need to build or get an RDTC board. After my first long burn (20 hours for a large pork butt) it's clear the HeaterMeter (at least the case) cannot take the Arizona heat. Event though I had an big beach umbrella covering the grill area, it started to warp - and it's not even July or August...
