    StokerLog Connectivity Problems

For the past year or so I've been having trouble maintaining a wi-fi connection between my Stoker and my computer. I thought it was an issue with slow AT&T internet speed (12MBPS) but I recently changed to Charter (100MBPS) and the problem hasn't gone away. I am using an older laptop with...

    Double Cheese Bacon Onion Smashburger

Sorry, no prep or grill shots. Just a double cheddar smashburger with bacon and caramelized onion layers on an onion bun. I'm sure this took a couple years off of my life but damn it was good. Hope you like it.

    Ozark Hog Roast

I traveled to down to beautiful Ozark, MO last weekend to see how country folk do a hog roast. Went from a live 130-lb. hog to delicious BBQ in just over 24 hours. I've spared some of the more graphic shots, but there are still pics that some people might not want to see. Fair warning. If...

    Crab-Stuffed Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp & Grilled Mussels

Did this for the current Throwdown but thought I'd also post it here for everyone. Started with some 16 count shrimp, made a crab stuffing and wrapped them in homemade bacon. Finished them off with a basil cream sauce, and then did some grilled mussels with chorizo. The shrimp ingredients...

    Christmas Bacon

Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. I haven't had much time to BBQ the past few weeks, but I was able to get in my first bacon cook a couple of weeks ago using the Bob Correll method. Finally getting a chance to post some pictures. Here's the lowdown: The whole belly (11 lbs.), skin...

Did some wings on the Performer for the Cards game tonight. Tried two of Paul Kirk's recipes (Fire & Smoke and Sweet & Spicy). Indirect at 270 for 2 hours. 1 piece of apple and 1 piece of cherry at the start. Here's some pics. Fire & Smoke is on the front. At the first turn 40 minutes...

Tuesday Night Ribeye & Taters a la Lampe

Still breaking in the new Performer. Threw on a nice ribeye and some cast iron baby yukons last night, and did some grilled veggies on the Genesis. Started with this. A little EVOO and KS&P on everything. Taters on in new CI skillet (inspired by many of Jim Lampe's posts). Steak on...

    Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

I joined my buddy's BBQ team (Uncle Gus) last year and have helped them out in a few competitions. We competed at the Wildwood Missouri BBQ Bash this weekend and I handled the chicken category all on my own (new recipe, prep, cooking, turn-in) for the first time. This is what we turned in...

    BBQ Bash in Wildwood MO

Anyone competing in or going to the Wildwood BBQ Bash this weekend? Our team (Uncle Gus) will be competing and selling so stop on by. In addition to a WSM and a couple of kettle grills, we also use a pretty unique smoker. A buddy of mine works for Ameren UE (local electric co.) and got his...

    Ribeye w/ Oven Roasted Morels

Found another one. Did this back in the spring when the mushrooms were popping. Roasted the gray morels with just a little oil, salt and pepper and onto the ribeye. That and some grilled veggies made the meal. Oh, and some ice cream with fresh peaches for dessert.

    Misc. Cook Pictures

I finally took the time to figure out how to do the picture thing. Here's a few pics of some cooks from this year. Pulled Pork Plated Nice batch of ABTs. Chicken wings - smoked and then crispened up in the oven. Sauced wings. Nothing I'm particularly proud of, but something...

Stoker Wi-Fi - Better Than Sliced Bread

Had my 1st cook with my Stoker Wi-Fi this weekend and it went almost flawlessly. The only minor hiccup was when I did a 5-min Off Lid and the connection dropped for some reason. May have just been a coincidence. I was initially bummed since I was running StokerLog and thought I'd have to...

New Stoker WiFi On Its Way Soon

Hi everyone- I ordered a Stoker WiFi earlier this week and am anxiously awaiting its arrival. I'm somewhat computer savvy but certainly not a networking expert or anything. I'm hoping that I'll be able to get everything up and running from the manual, but in the meantime does anyone have any...
